I was thinking of starting a section with Articles since a while ago. Thanks to the popularity of the post about the round-the-world tickets, I decided to make this short post sharing two more videos that may trigger your interest in traveling around the world.

Staralliance and other airlines alliances, Oneworld and SkyTeam, have some special packages for travelers wishing to travel around the world. The packages cost depends on the amount of flights you are taken when circling the world and the amount of miles flew. Some packages also charge extra if you cross the Equator line twice and so on.

In any case, travelling around the world has become more popular due to the widespread of hostels, english as main language and airports. And in order to make it easier, Star Alliance is offering a 15% discount on their around the world ticket! Be aware that the ticket must be purchased until the 29th of May. Check it here

Finnair launched again a promotion for flights to Asia. However, now, the availability of the tickets and conditions are restricted to members of their millage program. The good news is that the membership is free and we are sharing with you some details of the offer here so you can have a preview of it. As usual, their prices are very good and ranging from around 4000 kroner to 5000 kroner. The destinations include a few cities in India, China, Japan and Southeast Asia. The stating prices that mainly called our attention here have been Chongqing 2850 NOK, Singapore for 4190 NOK and Hong Kong 4090 NOK. The tickets must be bought until the 28th of May. However the travel period depends on the destination. For some destinations there are available flights in this summer or autumn and others just around the winter.

Regarding flights within Europe, Widerøe has announced for this summer 100.000 discount flights within Norway starting at 395 kroner and some destinations abroad (mainly Scotland and Denmark) for 550 kroner. Meanwhile, Norwegian says that they have flights to big cities in Europe starting at 400 kroner and local flights starting at 419 kroner. At last, SAS has a promotion of flgihts from Oslo to Eastern Europe (more specifically Chezch Republic, Poland, Lithuania and Russia) for 549 kroner for the three first destinations and 799 kroner for a flight to Moscow. However, for SAS’s promotion, you must buy your ticket before the 21st of May and travel around the summer.

Both Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa announced today promotional flights to North America. The promotions are almost the same. As they are both valid for flights from October to mid Deceber and Jannaury to mid March. The flight prices are very similar, being the base price of Lufhtansa slightly cheaper than the one of Austrian Airlines. However, we strongly advice you to check them both as the cheapest seats sell fast.

Some example of prices offered are: Washington (around 4000 kroner), New York (3800 with Lufthansa and 4200 with Austrian), Toronto (around 4600 kroner) and Las Vegas (4800 kroner).

Besides that, it is worth to mention that Norwegian announced local flights in Norway for around 350 kroner each way. In the other hand, SAS has announced local flights for around 499 kroner, but with a special offer where the kids travel for free (just paying the taxes).

Just a quick update about one more bankruptcy news.
Cimber has gone bankrupt yesterday and as a consequency all their flights are cancelled.

In their website, they say that in case the ticket was bought with a bankrupcy insurance. Some credit cards may be able to compensate you in case they provide some sort of insurance for this type of event.

If you have bought your ticket with a travel agency, you should try to contact them as they may be able to re-route you.

Austrain Airlines has just announced some cheap tickets for early bookers (flights to be taken between Nov. 1, 2012 – Mar. 31, 2013). The prices are quite good and this time they are including Male (in Maldives) in theirs offer. I do not remember seeing many offers to there and specially starting at 5.870 kroner as those are! Well besides that, they are flying very cheap to Japan (5420 kr), China (4050 kr), Delhi (3710 kr), Dubai and Jordan (around 3500), Egypt (3140 kr) and Israel for 2640 kr.

Some of the airlines just announced promotions for flights to be taken this summer. This is great news, as it is not always easy to find cheap tickets for those dates.

SAS has announced flights from Trondheim to Alicante, Nice and from other places in Norway to a few destinations in the United Kingdom. The announced prices are around 600-700 kroner and since some destinations are covered by Norwegian, you have one more chance to find a good discount By the way, Norwegian has announced tickets from 400-500 kroner from Trondheim to other destinations in Norway and several tickets for 150 kroner to Sandefjord, torp, where many low budget airlines (such as Ryanair, Wizzair and Norwegian) flies to.

At last, Swiss Airlines has offers around 2000 kroner (return) to both Athens and Thessaloniki. It may not be as cheap as Norwegian can possibly be, but the discount tickets from Norwegian for the summer tend to sell out quite fast. So keep this in mind.

Lufthansa has just started a new campaign with flights to Singapore (4595 kr) and several destinations in India: Delhi (3795 kr), Mubai (3795 kr), Chennai (3995 kr) and Bangalore (4595 kr). The flights must be taken between September and October, which is just after the monsoon and possibly a good time to go to India. Moreover, there are a couple of festivals after the Monsoon period.

Besides that both Norwegian and SAS claims to have still some cheap tickets for travels in Europe this summer. SAS announced on their main page that they have tickets to Prague, Amsterdam, Paris and Brussels (from Oslo) for 549 kroner for travels in Jun/July/August if booked by 30th of April.

Besides Lufthansa’s offer which we covered yesterday, other companies have released some really good discounts on intercontinental flights leaving from Norway.

Qatar airways has announced flights to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) for 5995 kroner and flights to Colombo (Sri Lanka) for just 5345 kroner. Besides that, they have other routes in the south of Asia (Thailand, India, Singapore, etc) for around 4000-6000 kroner. Moreover, they announced that they will be giving up to 25% discount on their flights (departing before the summer) during the next 3 days. However, it is not clear if the promotions are cumulative.

Besides that Austrian Airlines announced flights to Israel (Tel Aviv) for 2890 kroner and to other destinations around the middle east (Egypt, Dubai, Jordan and Iran) for between 3000-4000 nok.

At last, Finnair is dropping a crazy promotion of flights from Oslo to China (Chongqing) for just 2999 kroner! They also have some other great prices for destinations in Asia and Australia, such as: Australia for 7990 kroner, Seoul and Hong Kong for 3890 kroner. Their discounts targets mainly flights in this spring, but some destinations have discount prices for the second semester as well.

In general, all the mentioned offers target more less the same travel period: spring. And they have some common discount destinations: (Dubai, Tehran, Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi). The announced prices of Finnair are the cheapest followed by Qatar and Austrian Airlines. However, the difference is not so big between the price of the flights of the 3 companies. Since availability is limited, we advice you to check the 3 offers!

sorry for the delay and for the hiatus, but that was my time to take advantage of cheap flights and head for some vacations =)

I’ll start with a short post because I do no have much time and there is a promotion too good to be missed. However, the last purchasing day is today, the 17th of April.

Lufthansa announced cheap flights to South Africa, Venezuela and a couple of destinations on middle-east/north Africa. Some examples are Cairo for 3095 kroner, Caracas for 5445 kroner and Johannesburg for 4745 kroner.
